Now, after pouring my heart out I feel better and recharged. My head has some clarity so I can move to the link up of the day. Let’s go over to The Good Life and read all the mondaylisticles.
List of 10 I miss:
1. I miss sleeping in. Well, for obvious reasons, after a baby, there is no much sleep in. Unless you are capable to afford help. But I miss sleeping in until, at least, 9am uninterrupted.
2. I miss my skinny clothes. There is so much clothes I have stored that I don’t fit in. There is some good stuff that I want to, hopefully, wear by the end of this year – please God.
3. I missed my community -parents, relatives, friends, all from back home. There are plenty, more than a handful of people that I miss that I know I wouldn’t even have time to write a blog if I was there. I miss them.
4. I miss being a teenager. Mostly my skin, it was PERFECT. Plus, youth and beauty at my fingertips. I miss that. It’s an age where we can do things with more freedom than we think.
5. I miss the high of a first date. Even though I love my husband, I still miss that high of a first date. Even in the long relationships I had in the past, I always missed this little rush of adrenaline.
6. I miss school days. Oh school. This was the place where nobody will die or get fired by a mistake. All the brother and sisterhood, relationships, personality development, all that I miss. And don’t mention I can still go back to school, that is not the point. Homework, study is handled differently. No responsibility other than me, school and me again.
7. I miss the accessibility of my back-home’s food. You can find a taco stand on a street 24/7, especially on a weekend when young people like me are up dancing until the wee hours. Food’s price is ridiculously cheap and freaking delicious – avocado, papaya, figs – all those falling down from grandma’s tree.
8. I miss weddings. All my young friends are back home and so, their weddings. I only attended maybe 3 total since I came to Canada. WTF? There has been like 20 back home. But, really, couldn’t afford money-wise or time-wise. I enjoy the gathering, the sharing, the moment and the excuse to dress up.
9. I miss carne assada gatherings and spontaneity (2 misses in one). Oh yeah, we do spontaneous stuff all the time. Hey, are you free tonight? maybe, why? Come over, let’s have carne asada! 30 min later, there are like 20 people over and everybody is having a good time baby. That espontaniety is key. No fuss, just come, nothing of this ‘plan-thing-a-month-in-advance’ crap. If you are free come over, period. Carne asada is the link that glues friendship together.
10. I miss shopping malls being open until 9pm every day of the week. Back home the malls are open weekends hours (9am – 9pm) every day and X-mas season they stretch until 11pm. Here, they are just opened W-F until 9pm, the rest of the week until 6pm, including weekends.WTF? This makes shopping hard after work or during a lazy weekend. It drove me crazy that I had an hour to “shop” after work- I don’t like being rushed when shopping.
