2011 was a year of full surprises, good and not so good. Aside from motherhood being the highlight, some of my best personal points were the beginning of this blog. Who knew I would have the courage to start a blog in English?
It was scary to be honest. I wasn’t even sure I was going to be able to express and communicate at a decent level. I guess, at the end it kind of helped me develop the art of writing.
With blogging it came another set of discovers: blog design, illustration, html and css code. I have been good at understanding or self-teaching some logics behind formulas, coding or anything in between related. It just comes –to some extend- easy for me. So, I decided to applied along this past year some of the knowledge gather from the google searchs and really help improved the look and navigation of my blog.
I also found myself enjoying photography. I created a blog, which needs to be updated or being worked on, to show some of the pictures that might described something special to me. I eventually would love to set up a part time job out of it, but I don’t think this is the right time yet.
By blogging I made some good friends that really helped me not giving up my bloggy presence. Bruna from Bees with Honey was so sweet enough to be my FIRST follower in Twitter and made me feel so special by really caring on what I had to say in my posts or in Twitter. This personal (virtual) touch makes a huge difference and I already consider her a friend. Stasha from The Good Life, was so supporting in every week’s link up. I can shout that really promoting someone’s link in your weekly meme and reading it makes is so personal. I personally thank both of these women of how good they care about their readers and followers. That is one of the warmest feelings in this virtual world ever!
So, I decided to attend #MotherOfAllTweetUps (please look for it with the hash tag, you’ll find tons of info about it) and meet in person more bloggers that are a sensation from the West Coast area.
And last but no least, my Christmas Celebration was no any different than usual: dinner with the in-laws and go to bed. I was not in a Christmassy kind of mood to be honest, but I would always enjoy Christmas traditions if well presented on the table: cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy! I’m getting hungry. The New Year was even better. A bunch of friends got together for drinks and bites and needless to say I was going to be the designated driver. Hubs really wanted to enjoy himself this year and by no means I was opposed to that. I have to say I am thankful it went that way, the level of alcohol around was so high that moved from people zig zagging, confessing past sins, throwing up, more confessions, etc.. So. Much. Fun when you can appreciate how lucky you are by NOT being THAT person. At the end, my belly did not feel good. All that Asian infused food was not well received and it bothered me a little.
All and all 2011 was a great year. Personally was so full with experiences that enriched my life to another different level. Thank you all for being there for me.
Grab on to your seats for 2012! …Cheers!
