*Warning, this is a vent.
Every morning I wake up 1 hr before I need to leave the house to go to work.
I shower,
I brush my teeth,
I do my hair and make-up,
I put a small amount of perfume,
I try to get my outfit done
I do all of this before I leave.
I feel clean, I feel fresh and if the weather cooperates (Vancouver has very very few warm, bright and dry days) I might even feel vigorous.
Life is good, right? |
And, three out of five mornings something kind of slaps me in the face. Sometimes subtle, sometimes sharp, but others are just unbearable. Some people really have bad habits (or just had a hard morning).
And I get it. Not everyone can have the same standards or clean habits than me (which I do not understand why, really).
Just last week I run into:
1. Mr Smokerson. This guy, really, annoying and disrespectful. Right in front of me waiting for the light to cross the street and there it goes, his pollution all over me. He did not even care where the direction of the wind was going. Which pisses me off the fact that smoking is a ‘socially acceptable’ habit. It should not be or at least, it should be ‘conscious’ of others. If I can hold a fart you can hold to your stinky cigarette too.
2. Tikka Massala guy. Say no more? I just don’t know what they put in their food, but those spices do come through their skin. A little deodorant goes a long way.
3. Trident couple. You know, one of those moments when a couple sandwiches you and start talking and you are like ‘are you talking to me?’ kind of puzzled. Well, they were and they were not pleasant either. Let’s just say that the grade of smell was closed to a one day of old diaper smell.
Yes, it annoys me when that happens. It upsets me because no matter how clean I am, the strongest smell will always empower the weak one and as many times people in this country told me “do not use strong perfumes, people are sensitive” I just have to say to them “fuck off”.
