I care for this world. I care for the environment and our children and the children of their children. I really do. Compared to my young years where a lot of things ended in the trash can, I have now learnt to separate them inorganic vs recycling, and so on.
I have also made the conscious decision when it comes to buy bulk, vs fresh. From the local farmer vs the store. I’ve also made the informed decision of the type of car to own based on our needs and the gas consumption. I gave up driving to work considering I have the option to use public transportation, but sometimes this challenges my believes and efforts especially during my morning trips.
3 things that makes public transportation stinks, literally:
a) cigarette smoke: There has been a few instances where people smoke their weight in cigarettes. When it’s only 8am! I don’t want to feel like I smoke too. Just no.
b) poopy mouth (as in smells like poop): Morning breath is one thing, but this smell is something out of this world. If it were bullet proof this mouth is not to be open in public, fine, but we know a gasp, cough or even a sneeze will projectile feces aroma. Not cool.
c) body oddor: Some people might like to eat extra garlic, with every meal (my in laws fall in this category, and nothing wrong with that), and not shower or pass on the use of a deodorant. But. The rest of us have a nose. And a nerve system. Please reconsider to change the last two if unwilling to moderate the first one.
It makes me reconsider wanting to drive my car instead. But why, there shouldn’t be the need. Public transportation is for all of us, and we need to be better at considering others. Where is the common sense and responsibility?
I like to believe I am making a difference when opting for not using the car to go to work. If you commute please, let’s make it pleasant or at least, neutral. For a better world.
